Every now and then, an artist comes along who has the ability to truly breathe new life into a genre.

Right now for EDM, I believe that artist is Arty. It’s not that he’s necessarily doing things that no one has ever done before, but he’s bringing back a style that has all but been killed by the American electro revolution. Arty’s style incorporates elements from trance and progressive house that have long thrived in Europe, but have slowly faded behind a veil of heavy bass in America. Layer all of that with a beautiful level of control and an ambience that can envelope a massive room, and you have Arty’s “Together We Are.”

Arty first dropped “Together We Are” awhile back at Pier 94, but we just got word that the song would be released some time this summer.

While it might not be his most intricate track to date, the song’s massive piano chords, pumping beat, and beautiful string intermission make it absolutely intoxicating. This is my kind of song.

The future is bright for Arty, but more importantly, he makes the future bright for EDM.
