Jack Beats: Careless EP
Woooo kiddddd this EP is infected with all sorts of ridiculitus and such. Jack Beats‘ new Careless EP, released on OWSLA yesterday, is absolute electro house glory, but it’s so much more than that. With collaborations with Dillon Francis, Diplo, Example, and Tukura, this is an nightmare of an EP. Straight firepower from beginning to end.
The greatest thing about this EP is that I can’t really point out a standout track on this thing. They’re all just too good.
Perhaps the standout is ”Careless“, which features killer vocals from Tukura and warped bass lines that will no doubt have you pumping your fist ferociously. The attention to details in this track is just….wow.
Or maybe the best track is the collaboration with Diplo and Example, entitled “War“. The track is one of the most intriguingly different tracks you’ll hear in a long time. It’s just so absurd it’s almost comical. It perfectly represents Jack Beats’ style. Zany, quirky, and remarkably unique.
The collaboration with Dillon Francis is of course highly rooted in moombahton influences. If I played this for you without telling you it was Dillon, wouldn’t you be able to guess it was him on the track? He’s found such an unbelievably unique sound over the last year, and it really shines through in this track. Excellent stuff.
My personal favorite track of the Careless EP is probably the purely original “Hooligans“. With an intro from hell, a build that will have you crying for mercy, and a drop that will make you uncontrolably stomp (not dance, stomp), this one just gets me. So different, so weird, I love it.
Have a listen and buy the EP in it’s entirety on Beatport. (Buy links on players)
