Deadmau5 Greatest Hits

Deadmau5 is our favorite producer of all time here at The Top Sound. No one else really even comes close.

In celebration of Deadmau5′s Rolling Stone cover issue, we decided that it was time to do a Deadmau5 Greatest Hits post/video. Our team spent a ton of time going back-and-fourth discussing our personal favorites, and in the end we came up with our top 12. Why 12 you might ask? Well, the average greatest hits album has approximately 12 tracks, so we thought we’d go with that number rather than a top 10.

Overall, most of our team came to a general consensus in terms of song choices — however, rankings was a whole different story. We did our best to order the tracks in a way that we all agreed upon, but, being that I run this shit — the final say was mine. :)

Please remember that this greatest hits list reflects our personal opinions. You are all well aware of the fact that our team is filled with progressive house lovers, so you’re definitely going to see some older tracks on this list.

This is definitely a topic we’d like to see debated, so post your opinions in the comments, the YouTube video comments, tweet us, Facebook us… wherever!

So without further ado, here’s the video, and list below that. By the way, I didn’t really mix the tracks together very well as we spent way too much time discussing!

  1. Raise your weapon on the list, and at number 2??? personally this is one of my least favorite mau5 songs, it samples well but is not his style, and terrible imo. What about the reward is cheese and sophie needs a ladder? Joel always drops those live, 2 personal favorites of mine, along with sometimes things get whatever. Completely agree with strobe at #1`

“Raise Your Weapon” was just such a beautifully produced track — It’s flawless. Putting together a list like this is incredibly difficult due to the fact that Deadmau5 just has so many ridiculously amazing tracks. Each member of our staff possessed his or her own criteria when making their individual top 12. We then discussed and argued for hours, and this is what we came up with collectively. There were a couple people pushing hard for “Sofi Needs a Ladder” but it just didn’t make the cut :)
