Deadmau5 ft. Gerard Way – “Professional Griefers”

While “Professional Griefers” is not a new track by any means, this is the official first preview we’ve received of Deadmau5′s vocal version of the song.

Several months back, Joel hinted during one of his live streams that he was working on a vocal version of “Professional Griefers” with a very well known vocalist. Knowing the Mau5, that hint could have literally referred to anyone, but I never expected My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way. How these two hooked up, I have absolutely no idea, but I actually do think that Way was a perfect choice for the song.

If you’ve ever listened to the original version of this track, you’ll know that it was never meant to be a melodic work of art. It’s gritty and edgy, so don’t expect a “Veldt” style vocal. If I had to compare it in style to any of Deadmau5′s other vocal tracks, it would have to be “SOFI Needs a Ladder.”

This one may not be for everyone, but I really like it. It’s Deadmau5 doing his thing, in a completely different way than anyone else out there.

“Professional Griefers” will be available on September 2.
