Daft Punk Said To Be Releasing New Track July 21 – “Renoma Street” (Updated)

It’s long been said that Daft Punk was back in the studio working on some new music. It was also said that disco producer Giorgio Moroder was there working with them. However, up until now, there had been no information revealing when we might be hearing the results of these studio sessions.

But recently, the editor-in-chief of French electronic music magazine Tsugi, Patrice Bardot hinted on twitter that a new Daft Punk track would be released on “21/7.” (FYI, the month/day is reversed in Europe – July 21). While, we cannot confirm the accuracy of this statement, it was a very cryptic response provided when he was asked about a release date. However, this date would seem reasonable as it the same day as the release of Tsugi’s summer compilation album.

The track is said to be entitled “Renoma Street” and is named after a Paris cafe that is frequented by many EDM producers. Beyond that, there is little information known about this track or any others that Daft Punk might be working on. As always, check back here at The Top Sound for updates!

*Pitchfork is stating that they can confirm that this is just a rumor. However, at this point they have put fourth no evidence or named a source. While Pitchfork is generally a reliable source, without any concrete information, it’s tough to make a call either way at this point.
