Time and time again, I am completely wowed by Charlie Darker’s fresh take on EDM.

In a time when every other producer is releasing nothing but “happy,” festival anthems, Darker tends to go in the complete opposite direction. Now, that’s not to say that his music isn’t happy, quite the contrary, it puts nothing but a huge smile on my face. However, in correlation to his name, Darker’s sound is, well… darker.

His newest original, “Corner Kids,” is a fantastic track layered with an incredible, deep, plucks, an insanely gritty, electro-house bass, pumping kicks, and overall a really unique sound. It’s the kind of song that you play on repeat just because you’ve got nothing else like it on your playlist. It’s truly in a realm of its own.

I’m absolutely fascinated by this guy’s music. He’s still so new to the scene, yet I have a feel for his music already, and can almost always distinguish his tracks as his own.
